Certain plastics with chemical dipoles, such as polyamides (PA), PVC and acetates can be heated with high frequency electromagnetic waves. High frequency welding uses this property to soften the plastics for joining. Other names for High frequency welding are Dielectric Sealing, Radio Frequency R.F. and Heat Sealing. High frequency welding is most often used to bond PU and PVC coated fabrics. |
